At Golden Bay Motueka Funeral Services, prioritising the needs of bereaved families is paramount to us. This includes ensuring that funeral expenses align with the family's budget, alleviating any undue financial strain. The Funeral Director works to understand the needs of the family from the outset.

Our Funeral Director will provide a full estimate once arrangements for the funeral are agreed.

The invoice for the funeral will be sent 2 weeks after the death of your loved one and is due for payment within 6 weeks of the issue date.

Our policy on credit facilities is outlined on our Company Authority Form, which is signed by whoever is giving the instructions for the funeral arrangements.

Golden Bay Motueka Funeral Services accepts payment by Eftpos, direct credit, Visa or Mastercard.

Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ) has a funeral grant available to those who cannot pay the full funeral cost. This grant is asset-tested and payable to a maximum of $2,445.37* (2024). Our Funeral Director will assist you to apply for this grant.

Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) has a funeral grant of $7,491.95* (2024) for deaths resulting from an accident or medical misadventure. Please note that you cannot claim a funeral grant from both WINZ and ACC.

Medical insurance companies also have a range of death cover policies. Check with your insurance company to find out whether this is included in your policy.

The Nelson South Credit Union NZCU South has loans available to meet funeral expenses, subject to their Lender’s Policy, which gives you time-payment options. If you’re interested, they can meet with you and explain further.
